Projects

SEC Projects are collaborations between SEC and off-campus partners to address real-world issues and allow students to gain hands-on technical experience. SEC Projects offer a collaborative group work environment between participants and 1-2 team leads. This affords a low barrier to entry, a structured learning process, and mentorship opportunities for students with less incoming experience. SEC organizes two project cohorts per year; each project culminates in a formal seminar event, during which all teams will present the results of their respective projects. The event will be attended by Stanford students, faculty, and representatives from all project partner companies, providing each team a large platform for sharing their findings. We will hold two such events: once at the end of Winter quarter in March and once at the end of the school year in June.

Cohort 1 projects span the about 8 weeks of Stanford’s Fall term, starting week 3 and running until a final seminar event during week 10. Click here to learn more about Cohort 1!
